We are a church family that seeks to be shaped by Christ and allow that transformation to move us to share and invite those around us into the joy and story that we are a part of.
Our Vision
To be a church so deeply transformed into the image of Jesus that His presence radiates through us as a visible witness of his Kingdom here in East London, Essex and beyond.
We believe as disciples of Jesus, we are called to learn from and imitate him as the author and perfecter of our faith – being formed by practicing his ways and allowing his work in us to shine and build his church.
Our Mission
To cultivate Christ centered groups grounded in God’s word, empowered by His Spirit, and abiding in His love as we invite others into the joy of following Jesus.
We seek to build Christ’s church through connecting and growing with one another in more intimate groups. Though we meet as a larger body, we believe that walking closely with one another as we all strive to do the will of God and loving one another as Christ loves us, allows us to build a Spirit driven congregation that we can invite others into.

That they would experience a sense of belonging, encounter God’s love in a real way, and find a community that walks alongside them through every season of life.
What’s something about God that inspires you or brings you awe?
His patience and kindness – the way He meets people exactly where they are and gently leads them toward healing and freedom.

Christ’s love compels and motivates me to serve his church. Not only do I have faith in what good God can do in my life but I know through my experience he will.

That they see and feel the Love of Christ that we radiate. They see see the Bible being followed and imitators of Christ as instructed in John 13:34-35
What’s something about God that inspires you or brings you awe?
The vastness of the universe, that everything is orderly and that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible Heb 11:3

How long have you lived in East London?
I have lived in East London for over 23 years – 13 years in Forest Gate and 10 years in Loughton.
Why have you chosen to serve in this capacity?
I believe that young people are the future of our church. Serving in this ministry feels right to me, as it allows me to make a meaningful impact that can last for generations.

Why have you chosen to serve in this capacity?
I work with children, I love their pure hearts and they were valued by Jesus so we should value them. I am also so appreciative of how our church has taken care of my children since before they were even born, and continues to take care of them in the Teen ministry. I want to give back in the same way that I have received so much.
What is your hope for those who find the East London Church?
To feel welcomed and have a sense of belonging, whilst building a life-transforming relationship with God.

Why have you chosen to serve in this capacity?
I enjoy serving and supporting others, and I’m grateful to use the gifts God has given me to help the church community. Being part of these ministries allows me to care for people in practical ways and contribute to the life of the church.

What is your hope for those who find the East London Church?
I hope that newcomers find that God has answers to their deepest questions, peace for their most frightening fears and purpose for their gifts and skills.

Since 2007.

Why have you chosen to serve in this capacity?
I became a Christian in this church and I love it! I chose to be in the leaders team for this reason, and because I am excited about the future – partly because of the young people in the church.
What’s something about God that inspires you or brings you awe?
Gods infinite grace and holiness puts me in awe of him. I often think the of the famous song: “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound…”

Why have you chosen to serve in this capacity?
God has been so faithful to me, despite my weaknesses and failures, that I truly believe that serving the body of Christ – the church – is the least I can do to show Christ how grateful I am.
What is your hope for those who find the East London Church?
My great hope and prayer is that the East London church of Christ becomes a true light to the world, the “City on the Hill” where everyone finds a loving home in which to grow in their love and knowledge of Christ.

Why have you chosen to serve in this capacity?
My wife and I believe we are all called to serve wherever we can. Having been involved in shaping the current leadership structure, we feel particularly excited to step into the cluster rep role. We would love to serve in this capacity for a season, helping to ensure a smooth transition, offering continuity, and working alongside the team to refine the model as it beds in.

Born and raised in East London, but moved away for 12 years, and have been back for 4 years.

What is your hope for those who find the East London Church?
That they feel the love and care of Christ through the disciples (Christians) here. With this, my hope is that they come to feel safe and seen, no matter where they are on their journey. I also hope the people here can be led by the Holy Spirit to be tools for God, that to assist in their journey to the life giving truth of a relationship with God.
What’s something about God that inspires you or brings you awe?
He is LIFE. This has felt even more real and true to me recently. He is life, He gives life, and He also laid His life down for me — and for all His sheep.

How long have you lived in East London?
My first stint as an Eastender was as a 2-year old boy while my parents were part of the ministry here in East London. I am now back living and serving in East London as an adult 27 years later, where I have been for the past 4 years.
What is your hope for those who find the East London Church?
To experience the living God through the love of real community; to experience his presence through collective worship, and to develop intimate bonds and friendships within the family of the Church.

What is your hope for those who find the East London Church?
My hope is that the East London Church can be a home, family, and a place where those who come can be sharpened to become more like Christ and loved by the people around them.
What’s something about God that inspires you or brings you awe?
I am constantly inspired by God’s creation—the beauty and detail He has placed all around us. I love that so much of His artwork is found in places we have to search for. It reminds me that God is not a Creator who simply shows off, but one who is humble and invites us to search for Him more deeply.

How long have you lived in East London?
I’ve been in and out of East London, but most recently I’ve lived here for almost 3 years.
What’s something about God that inspires you or brings you awe?
I am in awe of how God pursues. Throughout the Bible and from what I have witnessed in my own life and the lives of those around me, the way God pursues His people, with a strong love, abounding grace, unwavering righteousness, and an unbelievable openness though he is constantly misunderstood is wildly beautiful to me.
